e-Zinc VIP Supporters Join Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

May 2, 2026

e-Zinc was honoured to welcome two esteemed guests at our manufacturing facilities in Mississauga on April 29th.

Former military pilot, test pilot, and astronaut Chris Hadfield is an early e-Zinc investor.
Chief Trade Commissioner Sara Wilshaw, of Canada’s Trade Commissioner Service is a key supporter of e-Zinc’s international expansion.

Together and alongside our CEO James Larsen and other e-Zinc team members, these valued partners participated in a ribbon cutting ceremony on our new build area in our production facility, and celebrated the commencement of building a California Energy Commission (CEC) pilot project, to be deployed summer 2026.

Chris Hadfield also conducted an inspiring fireside chat with the e-Zinc team, sharing exciting stories about his time in space, and wise words about the resilience needed for working through major challenges, the momentum being built in the low carbon energy transition, and what it takes to build a strong team.

What resonated deeply was his framing of purpose: striving to have, in his own words, “the largest impact, for the most amount of people, in a sustainable way.” As James Larsen reflected, that idea couldn’t be more aligned with what we’re building at e-Zinc, and it’s a powerful reminder of the scale of opportunity and responsibility in front of the e-Zinc team, noting, “Chris’ perspective, coming from someone who has spent his career operating at the frontier of technology and human achievement, meant a great deal to all of us.”
